WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — After traveling nearly four thousand miles in five states over eight days, the Road To Remember Tour made its final stop in Wilmington Saturday.

The CUE Center For Missing Persons has been raising awareness for missing children and adults for the last 13 years.

The tour officially ended Saturday afternoon at Honda Suzuki of Wilmington with a celebration featuring a pig pickin’, games, and live music.

Organizers say providing comfort to the families and friends of the missing persons can be just as important as highlighting the cases themselves.

“Our organization was founded, first and foremost, as an advocacy for and being a voice for the victims, but an advocacy for the families to help guide them through their nightmare, because their journey may be long sometimes, sometimes even years,” said Monica Caison, the founder of the CUE Center For Missing Persons.

An estimated 600,000 missing persons cases are reported each year. This year’s tour highlighted 92 of those.
